Lol, I find my old login after creating a new account, only to find 14 new PM's waiting for me from 2006/2007.
Hey guys, been a while since I was last here, I can't remember if I've posted here before or not.
Anyways, down to the entire reason why I'm here, self promotion:
A few of you may be aware of my plan for the Aussie Freelancers server, which includes creating a mod based on the main active clans on AF in recent times (Atreides, FU, OSG, UCoS, DK, bass etc). For those of you who aren't, that's what this thread is for, to go into detail on my mod and how much I've done so far.
I have a website and a section on the OSG forums set up for my mod, and these can be viewed by following the links below:

In short, my mod will include:
-New systems for each main clan on AF (between 1 and 3 depending on how active and powerful they are/were etc, giving each clan a place to hang out).
-A new VHF and Freighter class ship for each clan (to replace the Eagle, Sabre and Titan in system battles, to make them more interesting and also to give a more 'personal' feeling to trading).
-New factions based on each clan flying the clan ships in the new systems (if players want to kill clan members that aren't on, they can take it out on the AI clans ).
There are also plans for new weapons that are created by each clan, but that hasn't been decided on yet.
There have been a few questions that have been asked, which I will answer in this post so I don't have to answer them again.
Q: What if the admins don't allow the mod to be used on AF?
A: I have already obtained permission from TiMOiD to create a second server running the mod for people from AF to play on so the vanilla will remain like old times. If that plan falls down, I have a 24MB Cable connection in South Australia which will hold up to 30 (that's the most I've tested so far) people, most from different countries.
Q: How do you intend on modelling the new ships?
A: The ships will be based on vanilla ships. If a clan is based in Rheinland (like FU and UCoS), their ships will be based on Rheinland style vanilla ships.
Q: Will there be any new commodities to complement the addition of several new freighters?
A: There hopefully will be. I have already created a Cardi&Coke for the OSG, and will probably add more on request later on during production.
